FSEA Nominations

FSEA is seeking nominations for the following positions:

President

Serving in the FSEA Board of Directors is a mixture of responsibility, leadership, and camaraderie. It's a way of giving back to the environmental community and promoting education and professionalism. It's a leadership experience. It's building network and friendship. If you are interested in becoming part of the FSEA leadership, or know someone who would be a positive contributor to the board and the organization, please send your nominations to Catherine Katsikis at ckatsikis@ldcfl.com

Nominations will be accepted until September 30, 2009. Self nominations are acceptable. All active FSEA members are eligible. Election of officers will be held at the Fall Meeting on October 28-30, 2009 at the Palm Beach Gardens Marriott.

FSEA Celebrates Its Thirty Year Anniversary

Foundation and History

The Society was formed in 1978 by a group of professional analysts interested in maintaining a high level of technical excellence in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of environmental data. Because of the rapid increase in the number of laboratories and the increasing complexity associated with identifying more sophisticated chemical parameters, it had become imperative that some uniformity of procedures, quality control, professional ethics, and integrity be established.

From the beginning, it was agreed that these problems were best resolved from within the community of practicing analysts in cooperation with State and Federal agencies rather than waiting upon action from the latter. The founders saw a professional society as the appropriate forum for the dialogue necessary to deal fairly and intelligently with these concerns. Accordingly, the Florida Society of Environ- mental Analysts, Inc. was chartered as a non-profit corporation by the State of Florida on May 2, 1979.
