Chartered in 1979, the Florida Society of Environmental
Analysts (FSEA) maintains its main goal to promote the exchange
of knowledge, information and ideas relevant to environmental
professionals. FSEA promotes professionalism and technical
excellence, and fosters communication among the community of
environmental professionals and facility operators engaged in
sample collection, laboratory analysis, and the interpretation
and use of environmental data.
To realize its goals, FSEA relies on active participation
and involvement of its members at regional activities and/or
biannual meetings. Led by its Board of Directors and supported
by a group of hardworking committee chairmen and chairwomen and
volunteer members, these hardworking professionals willingly
serve and commit their time on a voluntary basis to keep a
healthy and productive organization. Through the dedicated
efforts of its membership, FSEA has steadily gained recognition
as a respected organization that provides a real service to the
environmental community. In 2005, FSEA was awarded by the
Institute for National Environmental Laboratory
Accreditation (INELA) for its achievement in promoting and
maintaining the highest standard of laboratory performance and
practice throughout the state of Florida.
Our semi-annual spring and fall meeting events are filled
with technical workshops and presentations from some of the
best in the industry. The regulatory forum discussions held
during these meetings provide an opportunity for members to ask
questions and seek clarifications on any of the regulatory
requirements. They also provide a venue for vendors to display
laboratory products and new innovations and talk to current and
potential customers.
Regional training workshops are also held for topics that
are of importance to its members, covering topics such as
guidance for implementation of laboratory ethics and data
integrity programs, specific analytical methodologies, and
field sampling.
In the past couple years, FSEA’s mentorship program
has also been improved and continues to grow. This program
allows promising college students the opportunity to attend
FSEA spring and fall meeting events where they can meet with
environmental professionals, view the latest analytical tools
and attend technical presentations.
You will notice that our website continues to improve and
grow. We now have a discussion forum for us to bring up topics
and get our members involved in the discussion. Send us your
feedback, suggestions, and help FSEA stay healthy and grow even
stronger. Please help us spread the word.
We look forward to seeing you in our meetings and
workshops!
Sincerely,
Delia Ivanoff
FSEA Past President
