You are invited to attend the Florida Society of Environmental Analysts’ Region 5  MDLs and Hot Topics Workshop at the City of Naples Utilities Administration located at 380 Riverside Circle in Naples, FL 34102. FSEA will host this one-day workshop, offered on Tuesday March 24, 2020.  See the attached agenda and registration form. You can now register online as well. This workshop will explore the method detection limit procedures specified in the 2016 TNI Standard and EPA 49 CFR Part 136, appendix B. Other “hot topics” to be covered may include: implementing the new calibration requirements, handling complaints, traceability, etc. The course instructors will be Silky and John Labie, both retired from the FDEP and the Principals of Environmental Laboratory Consulting & Technology (ELCAT).

In addition to a step-wise presentation of the procedures, the participants will be asked to determine the MDL and LOQs from sets of data. Before the workshop participants will be asked to provide issues they have encountered while implementing the 2016 TNI Standard (or any other process). These will be distributed to all participants prior to the workshop so that they can be prepared to share how their laboratory dealt with the issue.

This workshop promises to be both informative and beneficial to all analysts, managers, and quality assurance officers.  Come join us for an opportunity to exchange questions, ideas and valuable information. This workshop has limited space.  Please register early.

Meeting registration may be completed online! Please complete your registration online here.   Alternatively, you may complete the attached registration form (click here) and fax it to (941) 748-5720 or e-mail it to secretary@fsea.net.  All registrations (online, forms, and fees) must be received no later than March 18, 2020.  If your membership is not current, be sure to complete the membership portion of the registration and pay your membership fees. This will update your membership for the remainder of the calendar year. We are looking forward to seeing you at the workshop and encourage early registration to help with our planning.
